Joan Rivers: Uninhibited, uncensored, hilarious. Comedienne Joan Rivers will take the stage at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on Friday, June 22. Known for her nothing-off-limits brand of humor, everyone and everything is fair game for Joan. And after more than four decades of wisecracks, plastic surgery and red carpet rants, Joan still looks fabulous. Joan prefers that her gays sit in the front rows, so buy your tickets accordingly. Think Pink for the Breast Cancer 3-Day: Tango Wine Company presents a special evening of wine tasting, silent auction, raffle items and fun at its Little Italy winery. For just $25, participants will have the opportunity to sample a variety of wines and appetizers while helping to raise funds that will go toward research to find a cure for breast cancer. Great silent auction items will be available for bidding including a week stay at Solmar Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a salon package from Model Call Salon, a teeth-whitening package, and much more. The B-52’s: Known for their campy style and upbeat tunes, The B-52’s hit the stage at Viejas Concerts in the Park. The band, which formed in the mid-1970s after a drunken evening at a Chinese restaurant, will perform some of its most popular hits, “Love Shack,” “Rock Lobster” and “Roam.” The band is also in the process of putting together its first album of new work in more than 15 years, and some of the new tracks will be showcased. San Diego Women’s Fest: The women’s community of San Diego is invited to come together for a day of education and celebration at The Center. This daylong festival will be packed with workshops, entertainment, and resources for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women. The goal of the event is to empower LBT women to learn new skills, celebrate women’s creativity, build a stronger and more diverse community, and gain access to essential health resources. Taste of Adams Avenue: The Adams Avenue Business Association invites you to stroll the streets surrounding San Diego’s Adams Avenue Business District for the annual “Taste of Adams Avenue.” This year’s event, which is its seventh annual, will feature more than 20 restaurants, all providing samples of their culinary treats. Participants will be able to taste a wide variety of foods ranging from Greek, French, Mexican, Italian, American and more. Old Town Trolley Tours will provide transportation throughout the district during the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event. www.adamsaveonline.com

Same-Sex Dance Club: Ever wanted to try ballroom dancing? How about Latin dancing? The Same-Sex Dance Club is a sports and social club formed to create an alternative to the already existing club and country-western dance scene in San Diego. Learn how to glide with grace across the dance floor from experienced instructor Kurt Popp, who has years of dancing, teaching and training experience. Classes are $5 for club members and $8 for non-members (with 50 percent of the proceeds being donated to the Hillcrest Youth Center). You do not need to bring a dance partner. Earth, Wind & Fire: Six-time Grammy-winning Earth, Wind & Fire will take the stage as part of the San Diego County Fair’s Summer Concert series. With a musical style that crosses a number of different genres, ranging from rock to R&B and everything in between, Earth, Wind & Fire will be one of the highlights of this year’s fair. The band will be performing hits such as “Shining Star” and “Got to Get You into My Life” on the Grandstand Stage. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $25-$160, which does not include parking or admission to the fair. A dinner package is available. True Colors Tour: Hosted by Margaret Cho, the inaugural True Colors Tour comes to San Diego for an exciting evening filled with some of our community’s favorite entertainers. Cyndi Lauper will be joined on stage by Erasure, Debbie Harry, the Dresden Dolls and others. Lauper conceived this tour as a way to give back to the GLBT community, which has given her so much love and support throughout her career. The goal of the tour is to raise awareness of the issues that face the GLBT community. The local leg of the tour will be at San Diego State University’s Open Air Theater. Art in the Park: San Diego’s Balboa Park is home to a number of great art museums, galleries and other cultural institutions. One of the best places in the park to check out work by local artists is in the Spanish Village Art Center. The 37 working artist studios that make up the Village feature demonstrations, art sales, live music and food, at the monthly “After Hours: Art in the Park” event. The event is held on the fourth Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. The Spanish Village is the largest community of artists in San Diego County!
