A new show of hoaxes and wisecracks features a police officer laughing at drivers’ license photos, a man playing a bagpipe next to a pay phone and an elderly woman congesting traffic.
Lady Chatterley
Based on the 1928 D.H. Lawrence novel, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, which upon its release caused a public uproar over its sexually explicit scenes, the film adaptation stars Lady Chatterley (Marina Hands), a sexually repressed wife married to a World War I veteran (Hippolyte Girardot) whose lower body was paralyzed from fighting in the war.
Gypsy Caravan
Taking place in the United States and Europe, this film documentary tracks the world-wide Gypsy Caravan concert tour which featured a number of international Gypsy performers. Director Albert Mayles contrasts the performances with personal vignettes told by the Roma, a people whose history is steeped in Gypsy folklore and mythology.
Sunshine
Planet Earth and the human race are nearing their end in Sunshine. Set 50 years into the future, a spaceship of eight finds a device to save the planet and its 6.6 billion people. But with humans being human, a fatal mistake is made, placing the crew in harms way. Now, on a journey to save planet Earth and its creatures, the space travelers are hard pressed to save their own lives.
