Hillcrest’s Birthday: Our favorite “gayborhood” turns 100. Join the Hillcrest History Guild and the Hillcrest Centennial Committee as they celebrate the first century of this great neighborhood. The day will include a birthday cake provided by City Deli at noon on the corner of Fifth and University avenues, with entertainment by Miss Jenny’s Steppin’ Time Dancers. The celebration will continue at 5 p.m. with a neighborhood barbecue and social at the Joyce Beers Uptown Community Center.
