Ari Clare and Alex Wheeler, owners of House.Boi, will unveil a unique retail concept integrating contemporary furniture and home accents with hip men’s clothing and accessories, at a grand opening event on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 9-6 p.m.
“Hearing friends and neighbors complain of the lack of unique home accents, terrible wait times and poor customer service, [we] immediately saw an opportunity to create a ‘pop and pop’ store with a hip, fresh product mix,” Wheeler said.
Clare and Wheeler hope to fill a niche in the San Diego marketplace by creating a neighborhood boutique that also offers full interior design services and accents such as area rugs, lamps and vases. The one stop shop will also offer gift options and accessories for men, including sterling silver jewelry.
The owners hope that their different aspects from previous business experiences will come together to make House.Boi a success locally.
With 17 years of retail experience, Clare most recently owned a Phoenix-based interior design firm called The Palmcroft Design Group for which he received tremendous television, magazine and newspaper recognition for his creative style.
“Through these past ventures, Ari brings to House.Boi an understanding of all aspects of the business from the eye of buying merchandise to the delivery experience in the home,” Wheeler said of his partner in business and in life.
Wheeler brings a 20-year background in customer service and technology allowing tremendous knowledge and experience to assist with various aspects of the business.
“His background with a major financial institution allows Alex to bring tremendous knowledge and experience in technologies to assist with House Boi’s Web site, point of sale systems and the soon to launch e-commerce option to the company Web site,” Clare said.
House.Boi will incorporate unique ongoing events such as gallery evenings and jewelry trunk shows among other charity related events to become a strong member of the community, the owners said.
