Montage: 7 years and going strong
Celebration begins Sept. 27
Published Thursday, 25-Sep-2003 in issue 822
This weekend Club Montage, San Diego’s premiere gay dance club, will celebrate seven years of pounding beats, guest performers and of course shirtless guys dancing. To mark the anniversary there will be a special live performance by Janice Robinson and DJ Kimberly S will be spinning all night long.
Over the years Montage has received numerous honors, including being voted Best Nightclub in America according to Nightclub and Bar Magazine. More recently, the San Diego Union Tribune named the bar editors’ pick for best nightclub in 2003.
While the look of the club has changed over the years with some fresh paint, new carpet and, most recently, with the addition of Rockin’ Sushi to the rooftop patio, the club has consistently been one of the most popular party spots in San Diego and on the west coast.
The list of artists who have performed at the club goes on and on, including Ru Paul, Deborah Cox and CeCe Peniston. It has also attracted some of the most popular DJs in the world, including Phil B, Manny Lehman, Brett Hendricksen, Chris Cox, Susan Morabito and Peter Rauhofer.
The anniversary celebration starts at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. The Dreamgirls revue begins at 10:15 p.m. and the fun continues until 4:00 a.m.
