TMI: Monthly word-performance show for homos, lesbos, transfolk, feminsists, queerpunx, polyamorites and more! This month’s show includes readings from San Diego’s new experimental lit. magazine. TMI will run from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at The Rubber Rose. All ages are welcome, and a $5 - $7 donation is requested. Diva’s Nite Out: San Diego State University’s LGBT Resource Center presents “Diva’s Nite Out,” the ninth installment of the monthly drag revue series. Some of San Diego’s finest up and coming drag talent will perform at the show, along with a special performance by INTELLECT Dance troupe. The show is open to all ages, and admission is free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m. Donations will be accepted, however, and proceeds will be given to AIDS Walk San Diego. The show will take place in the SDSU Aztec Center’s Backdoor Theater, located at 5500 Campanile Drive on the SDSU campus. www.PrideAtState.org

Fourth Annual Transgender Community Picnic: Transgender Advocacy and Services Center (TASC) will co-sponsor the fourth annual Transgender Community Picnic. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Balboa Park, just beyond the Sixth Avenue and Upas Street entrance. A transgender flag will guide participants to the event. Us: Tim Miller will perform his award-winning one-man show “Us” at the Masonic Hall in North Park. The performance, which includes nudity, political perspectives, and show tunes will explore issues of same-sex marriage, immigration, the exile and injustices that GLBT people face in the United States, and Broadway musicals. The show will run on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $22 and can be purchased at Obelisk Bookstore in Hillcrest, or Claire de Lune coffeeshop in North Park. SDHDF Boat Cruise: The San Diego Human Dignity Foundation will host its annual boat cruise. The cruise will sail through San Diego Bay while guests enjoy a brunch buffet and mingle aboard San Diego Harbor Excursion’s newest and most deluxe ship, the California Spirit. The boat cruise honors the individuals and organizations that have set up funds with the foundation to benefit the GLBT community. The cruise will board from 11:30 a.m. to noon from the South Broadway Pier at 1050 N. Kundalini Yoga: Check out The Center’s Monday night Kundalini Yoga session. Kundalini Yoga is an ancient science that combines postures, movements, breath, stretching, relaxation, meditation, rhythm and sound currents to work on every aspect of your being. This includes the physical, mental and subtle bodies. Everyone is welcome to attend the 5:45 p.m. class, and no previous experience in yoga is required. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably, and those with sensitive joints should bring a yoga mat or pillow. Immediate physical and mental benefits are to be expected from the very first session. The free class is hosted by The Center’s Women’s Resource Center. Free Museums: Every Tuesday, museums and cultural institutions throughout Balboa Park offer free admission. This is a favorite day for locals and visitors alike to check out these fine venues in San Diego’s “big backyard.” On Tuesday, Sept. 25, the following museums will offer free admission: Aerospace Museum, Auto museums, Hall of Champions, and the International Cottages. Siren: San Diego’s premier open-mic night returns to the Rubber Rose. The event features spoken word, hip-hop, and other forms of artistic expression.
