This is the season premiere for the critically acclaimed series focusing on the drama surrounding a high profile, high school football team. Keep an eye out for Mayor Lucy Rodell (Libby Villari), who happens to now be broadcast television’s only flesh and blood lesbian.
Monday
“Weeds”
Showtime at 10 p.m.
This satire of the suburbs features two recurring gay characters: preteen lesbian Isabelle, and the recently out Sanjay. Look for a high dose of acerbic snark, when Nancy meets Peter’s ex-wife, who considers her an “insane stalker person.” Also, Doug takes a messy revenge on Sullivan.
Wednesday
“Pushing Daisies”
ABC at 8 p.m.
Ned suspects foul play when an automotive expert dies in a mysterious traffic accident. Meanwhile, Chuck presses Ned about how he revived her.
FILM
The Seeker: The Dark is Rising
Based on Susan Cooper’s novel, The Dark is Rising tells the story of Will Stanton, a young man who learns he is the last of a group of warriors who have dedicated their lives to fighting the forces of the dark. Traveling back and forth through time, Will discovers a series of clues which lead him into a showdown with the forces of unimaginable power.
The Truth Can Be Adjusted
Michael Clayton, an in-house “fixer” at a corporate law firm, takes care of the firm’s dirtiest work. Though burned out and hardly content with his job, divorce, failed business venture and mounting debt have left him inextricably tied to the firm. When a multi-million dollar settlement case is sabotaged, Clayton faces the biggest challenge of his career and his life.
The Heartbreak Kid
This remake of Elaine May’s The Heartbreak Kid stars Ben Stiller as Eddie, a man who as the film opens is getting married to a woman he proposed to after knowing her for just one week. While on their honeymoon he discovers that his new bride is an many ways a horrible person, and at the same time meets a woman who he begins to realize he should have married.
