Marci Bair, certified financial planner, started Bair Financial Group in 1994 by herself. Now, celebrating the 15th anniversary of her company, Bair said, she employs a team of four that specializes in the financial planning, investment and insurance needs of the GLBT community. “Our goal is to have our clients retire with peace and mind and enjoy their life a long the way,” she explained, noting to do so, she also pulls in other professionals to add to her team of insurance specialists, business consultants and professionals with legal backgrounds and various professional designations, when needed.

Bair, a San Diego native, balances her personal and professional life with her partner of almost 24 years. Together they have two boys ages 9 and 12, which she admitted keeps her involved in the community well beyond her professional life.

“I have been active with Family Matters (San Diego’s GLBT parenting association) for more than 12 years and am very involved in coaching youth sports, especially basketball and baseball,” she said.

A member of the, Greater San Diego Business Association, Bair is also the founder of Gay Day in the South Bay, a mini-Pride event in Chula Vista. Additionally, the local lesbian is a founding member of the South Bay Alliance, a GLBT-allied group in the Chula Vista area dedicated to networking socially and promoting GLBT and supportive businesses in the South Bay.
