Neither rain nor hootin’ and hollerin’ rugby players could stop the San Diego leather faithful from coming out and supporting Club X as it prepares for 2008 San Diego Leather Pride. Club X will be hosting International slave, slave barb, on Saturday, March 15 for a session on Dominant/submissive relationships. Slave barb is an incredible woman I have known for many years and she’ll be here with International Master, Master Larry, when he judges the 2008 Mr. San Diego Leather Contest.

Club X continually demonstrates “leather pride” when it comes to supporting the efforts of leather folks in San Diego. On Saturday, Dec. 8 members of Club X put together a finger lickin’ good Dessert Orgy. After a day of rain, some of us begrudgingly dragged our tired, wet, cold leathery asses to The Hole to find a very enthusiastic and very drunk rugby team celebrating a recent victory or (maybe a future victory) with many, many pitchers of beer. I don’t know much about rugby but from watching British rugby teams on X-tube get drunk, strip in pubs and dance on the pool table, I knew this was going to be a night to remember.

Of course, I was picking out the few I wanted to see get drunk, strip and dance on the pool table but after 15 minutes there were no support cups flying through the air or sweaty jock straps hitting me in the face. Apparently, naked celebrating isn’t allowed in San Diego but we held out as long as we could for the rugby team to lose their drunken minds and shorts.

Disappointed that the rugby team was not fulfilling their perceived obligation of free-ballin’ debauchery, Club X decided to move the Dessert Orgy outside to the stage. Leather people can have an orgy anyplace and for any occasion and there’s nothing that screams “eat me now!” like whipped cream and chocolate. There was cream and chocolate on mouths, fingers, boots, boobs – and that was just the first dessert. Leather people were licking and smacking like they were ready to take this Dessert Orgy to the next level.

Of course everything that could take this to the next level was on the silent auction table. In the midst of all the licking and fingering we could bid on a matched pair of floggers, ankle and suspension cuffs, a tattoo from Fleshskin Grafix and of course a gift certificate from Pleasures & Treasures. By the way, get over to Pleasures & Treasures for the art show and buy me something while you’re there.

Rain, cold, drunk rugby players and all, Club X raised a bit more than $1,200 and a portion of that will go to Storefront Youth Shelter. Thank you Karen, caryl, Club X, The Hole, the rugby team, the bakers, the buyers, the volunteers and everyone who made this event a great kickoff to the holidays.
