San Diego Bowling Tournaments, a non-profit organization aiming to raise funds for needy families and the homeless during the upcoming holiday season, will hold its first benefit, the “SDBT FirstBowl,” on Oct. 11-12 at Mira Mesa Bowl. The SDBT FirstBowl is the first in a series of bowling tournaments to benefit the less fortunate.

Bowlers will compete for over $18,000 in prizes, and proceeds from registration fees will go directly to help disadvantaged families. SDBT works in conjunction with San Diego-based Mama’s Kitchen and the Salvation Army, and will also be holding clothing and non-perishable food drives at all of their tournaments on behalf of these organizations.

Ticket raffles for additional prizes will be held at each event. SDBT will also be holding similar tournaments during the rest of the year: the Strike-or-Treat Tournament Oct. 25-26 at Kearny Mesa Bowl; the Autumn Bowl Tournament Nov. 1-2 at Sunset Bowl; the Admiralty Bowl Tournament Nov. 22-23 at Admiral Robinson Center; the Winter Bowl on Dec. 6-7 at Parkway Bowl; and the Storm Bowling Bowl Tournament Dec. 13-14 at Mira Mesa Bowl.
