America’s Dream Chamber Artists: The world class chamber ensemble, America’s Dream Chamber Artists (ADCA), will present a concert at the new and acoustically stunning Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall. ADCA is a vibrant young group of renowned musical prodigies from Juilliard and other elite schools. Showtime is 8 p.m. General admission is $25, and student tickets are $12. Wigfest: Wigfest celebrates everyone affected by breast cancer. The evening includes live DJs, a silent auction, prizes, cocktails, appetizers, desserts and more! The proceeds from the event go to the B-CAUSE Fund (Breast Cancer Alliance United to Support and Educate) at the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation. Wigs are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for the best wigs! Wigfest will take place at the Westin Horton Plaza from 8-11:30 p.m. Tickets are $60. Divas in Denial: The University of California, San Diego’s LGBTQI Association will present its 13th annual drag show, Divas in Denial. This event, which is open to the public, has become one of the most well-attended and popular events on the La Jolla campus. UCSD invites everyone to an entertaining evening of gender-bending, spectacle and music! The free show begins at 8 p.m. in the Price Center Theatre. UCSD is located at 9500 Gilman Drive in La Jolla. Tannhäuser: The San Diego Civic Theatre presents the remarkably spiritual, moving opera of self-sacrifice and atonement, Tannhäuser. Lush and lyrical, powerful and poignant, Wagner’s music sweeps you into his fantasy world, from Venus’s sensual grotto, to the beautiful valleys of medieval Germany and the grandeur of The Hall of Song. The audience will immediately recognize the famous “Pilgrims’ Chorus,” and the powerful and moving finale will long linger in their minds. The four-hour long show (with two intermissions) is sung in German with English translations above the stage. Showtimes and ticket prices vary. Beat the Clock Mondays: Got the Monday night blues? Bourbon Street has the cure with its Beat the Clock Mondays event! Get there early for the best deal on well and domestic drinks, which are just 50 cents starting at 9 p.m. The drinks go up in price by 50 cents every half hour until capped at $3 until 2 a.m. The evening also includes music by DJ Kenny, and entertainment provided by the Bourbon Boys, who sell $2 body shots all night long. Hillcrest Mardi Gras: The seventh annual Hillcrest Mardi Gras Street Party will be held rain or shine in the heart of Hillcrest! Entertainment will feature headliners including Tootie & the Lips Girls, Pepper MaShay, and Candye Kane. From 6-11 p.m., attendees will enjoy food, drinks, music, live entertainment, lots of beads and more! General admission tickets are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the event. Guys, Games, and Grub: Guys, Games & Grub is entering its second year as a fun, free social activity for men at The Center. The February event invites men to celebrate Valentine’s Day a week early as a special speed dating game will be featured. This is a chance for all single guys to meet new, eligible, single men. The regular board and card games will be available, so those not interested in the speed dating event will still find plenty of fun. Men 21 and over are welcome and all age groups are well represented. The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Pizza is served. Rubberbandance Group: ArtPower! at UCSD presents The Rubberbandance Group (RBDG), an über-physical hybrid of precision and invention, mixed with explosive hip-hop, contemporary, and classical dance with energy that pops and sizzles. Quijada grew up on the streets of Los Angeles and was nicknamed Rubberband by b-boys and rappers for his unusually elastic dancing style. RBDG is a new fusion that involves an expansive, sophisticated approach to physicality, line and form. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $17-$36.
