Colbie Caillat: The 21-year old “quintessential California girl,” Colbie Caillat will take the stage in the DreamCatcher Lounge at Viejas Casino. Known for her organic, low-key, refreshing style of music, Caillat will perform hits such as “Bubbly” and “Tailor Made.” The artist’s popularity has swelled over the last few months, as evidence by hits on her MySpace page MySpace.com. In October 2007 she had just 6,240 friends linked to her profile. She now has more than 100,000 people networked to her page and her song has more than 10 million plays on the site. Lola’s Anniversary Celebration: The community is invited to attend Lola’s third anniversary celebration in the “Swank Lounge” at Martinis Above Fourth. Appetizers will be served and attendees are encouraged to bring a friend and enjoy a martini or two. The celebration is being hosted by Lola to show her appreciation to the community who has supported her fund-raising efforts during the years. Lola is looking forward to seeing everyone there! ‘Code of Conduct’: Obelisk Bookstore and The Center will present Rich Merritt reading, discussing and singing his new novel Code of Conduct in The Center Auditorium at 7 p.m. A reception will follow. Merritt’s debut novel takes place in San Diego and follows gay marine Don Hawkins, the unofficial leader of a group of gay service members, all compelled to guard their sexual identity as faithfully as the served their country. It depicts the early days of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and San Diego’s early gay scene. It was also a 15-year labor of love for Merritt reflecting the memorable times he himself had here from 1993 on.

‘Somebody to Love’: The San Diego Men’s Chorus’ first performance of the 2008 season, Somebody to Love, will feature Tony-nominated actress, singer and comedienne Sharon McNight at the Park Manor Suites rooftop lounge. The show, which is the chorus’ second Valentine cabaret, will feature the individual talents of chorus members as well as a rousing finale by the entire 55-member group.Tickets are $35 each or $60 for a couple. ‘Anyone & Everyone’: Anyone and Everyone, is a film that gives a moving account of several different American families who have a son or daughter who is gay. The story interviews families from different religious and ethnic backgrounds including Japanese, Bolivian, Cherokee, Mormon, Jews, Catholic and Hindu. Through their interviews, parents describe intimate accounts of how their children revealed to them that they were gay and also talk about struggling with the pain their sons and daughters have dealt with, such as not being accepted by relatives and friends, and being ostracized by their religious congregations. Local filmmaker Susan Polis Schutz filmed the documentary. A free public screening will be held at the San Diego Public Library from 2-4 p.m. An open forum discussion will immediately follow the film. San Diego Museum Month: During the month of February 2008, the San Diego Museum Council and Macy’s invite entertainment seekers in San Diego County to visit more than 30 participating institutions at half price admission. Participants must obtain a free Museum Month pass which is included in the special Museum Month brochure at all San Diego County Macy’s stores. ‘Romeo & Juliet’: Direct from St. Petersburg, Russia, the St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre performs Romeo & Juliet one of the most romantic of Shakespeare’s stories accompanied by the music of Sergei Prokofiev. Choreographer Serge Vikulov and Artistic Director Yuri Petukhov have created a full-length ballet, performed in three acts, by a ballet company founded over 40 years ago as the first Theatre of Ballet in Russia.
