Daniel DiCarlo has been in the tax preparation profession since January 2000 when he was a member of a local CPA firm. He branched out on his own and formed San Diego Tax Solutions in 2007, where he is joined by another enrolled agent (EA) in the firm, Jonathan Myatt. “An EA is a tax professional who has passed an IRS test covering all aspects of taxation,” DiCArlo explained, noting that EAs have been admitted to the practice since before the Internal Revenue Service and Federal Tax Designation was formed, dating back to 1884.

DiCarlo offers full-service tax preparation and tax advice for individuals and business, as well as specialized services helping clients to resolve issues with back taxes, payroll taxes and problems with the IRS and Franchise Tax Board.

“We are here as a comprehensive tax firm for the community, their friends and family members,” DiCarlo said.

Raised in San Diego, as one of six children in a Navy family, DiCarlo attended Kearny High School and the University of San Diego, where he graduated in 1989. He worked in the social work arena at St. Vincent de Paul Village for 10 years before making a career change to the tax profession.

DiCarlo said he is comfortable helping the GLBT community with professional tax advice and preparation that is unique to their personal, business and relationship needs. “We work with a lot of gay and lesbian couples to offer them the best direction, planning and tax preparation for their unique situations,” DiCarlo said.
