Victory Fund Annual Lunch: The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, a groundbreaking organization that works to advance GLBT candidates and civil rights at all levels of government throughout the country, will host its annual San Diego lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Bahia Resort Hotel. Sen. Christine Kehoe, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis and City Councilmember Toni Atkins will be special guests at the event. The featured speakers will be Sam Adams, Portland City Commissioner and candidate for Portland’s mayor, and Chuck Wolfe, President and CEO of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund. Queer Theater: Diversionary Theatre will present the return of its play development program. The four-day event will include two play readings, “meet the playwrights” sessions and a playwriting workshop. Readings of Stage Directions by L. Trey Wilson, and The Summer Before the Summer of Love by Scot Augustson will take place throughout the program. The playwriting workshop, “Writing the 10-Minute Play,” is a writing intensive workshop that will explore the structure, strengths and challenges of the increasingly popular 10-minute play. Trans-Europe Express: Trans-Europe Express happens the last Saturday of every month with a party for electronic music lovers. Tower After Hours: The San Diego Museum of Man and the Irish community of San Diego will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a wee bit early this year! Help honor Ireland from 6-8 p.m. at the museum. Enjoy a taste of all things Irish, including regional Irish cuisine and libations. Dozens of Irish musicians and dancers will perform as they do at many pubs and Irish restaurants around town. Proceeds from each Tower After Hours event benefit museum programs. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for students, and $10 for museum members. Admission is for adults ages 21 and over only, and includes entrance and exhibits, traditional food tastings, two drink coupons for traditional drinks, and live entertainment.
