The Autumn Classic returns to San Diego this week along with 84 teams from all over the country. Be sure to check out the excitement on the fields and the players off the fields this weekend. Games start at 8:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Kit Carson Park in Escondido, the Poway Sportsplex and Hourglass Park in Mira Mesa.

Southern California’s gay and lesbian pilots will rendezvous for lunch at the Airport-in-the-Sky on Catalina Island at 12:00 p.m. Find your favorite aircraft pilot and be sure to join them for an exciting trip out to Catalina Island. The Rainbow Volleyball Alliance will take over the Balboa Gym, Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday afternoons they set up courts along Sixth Ave.

The 2003-2004 basketball season is finally here. Games are held every Wednesday starting at 6:00 p.m. and continuing until 10:00 p.m. at the Golden Hills Recreation Center, located at 2600 Golf Course Dr. Call (619) 235-1138 for directions.

The Front Runners meet at the corner of 6th and Laurel every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m., for 3-6 mile runs or 2-3 mile walks.

Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays, the swim team will be at the City Heights Municipal Pool at 4380 Landis St. from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday night practices are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday morning practices are held at the Allied Gardens Pool from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
