Fido & Co., owned by Lisa Wilhoit McCormick and Karla Perez, is San Diego’s first canine country club.

The members-only club offers a luxury daycare, variety of pet sitting services, wellness spa and grooming amenities, professional training programs and special event celebrations.

“Providing the ultimate canine experience, Fido & Co. affords all the privileges of a first class country club,” the co-owners said.

McCormick and Perez planned and researched every detail for more than two years to carefully ensure a luxurious and safe experience for everyone involved at Fido & Co.

“Your dog’s well being is very important,” they said. “Through the guidance of a board certified veterinary behaviorist, our screening process is designed with your pet’s personality as an individual rather than ‘one size fits all.’”

Fido & Co.’s checklist of membership requirements includes a comprehensive questionnaire, a favorable personality assessment, satisfactory references, and a successful full day of daycare.

The play areas at Fido & Co. are designed to promote good health and fun, encouraging dogs to run and play throughout multi-level play rooms. Floors are made out of specialized rubber so that constant running and jumping is easy on joints and paws.

“In the event that one of our members needs a break, he/she can either play alone in a separate part of the play area or relax in one of our nap rooms,” said the owners, noting they never put members in cages.

Fido & Co.’s pet sitting services include pick up and delivery to and from daycare, providing a great alternative to boarding and being away from home.

Because Fido & Co. members already have the country club as part of their routine, when owners leave town, it’s as if nothing has changed.

“While you are away, your dog can still enjoy play time with friends and be cared for unconditionally,” McCormick and Perez said.
