Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Fest: The San Diego Women’s History Museum & Educational Center will host a Wine, Cheese, and Chocolate Festival from 5-9 p.m. at the Casa del Prado. The event will include wine, cheese and chocolate tastings, raffle prizes and entertainment. San Diego’s Queen of Boogie Woogie, Sue Palmer, will perform with her trio. Tickets are $25 in advance, or $30 at the door. The San Diego Women’s History Museum’s mission is to educate and inspire present and future generations about the experiences of women by collecting, preserving and interpreting the evidence of that experience. Flicks 25th Anniversary: San Diego’s No. 1 video bar is turning 25 this year! On a Musical Note: The San Diego Women’s Chorus will present its 21st annual spring concert, “On a Musical Note” at 7 p.m. at Mission Hills United Church of Christ. The show promises to be a “sing-along-worthy” good time. The fun show will be full of songs from well-known Broadway and movie musicals including Rent, South Pacific, Sound of Music, A Chorus Line, Wicked and many others! Tickets are $15 for general admission, and $12 for students, seniors, and military. Children 12 and under are free. Indian Creek Trail Hike: The San Diego Canyoneers are San Diego Natural History Museum volunteers trained to teach appreciation of plants and animals in southern California. Hikes are scheduled regularly at locations across the county. This week’s hike will take place at the Indian Creek Trail, which is described as strenuous, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The trail encompasses beautiful vistas along a canyon and a stream with vegetation that varies from pine forest and black oaks to scrub oaks. The hikes are open to the public and no reservation is required. Indian Creek Trail is located in the Cleveland National Forest off the Interstate 8 Sunrise Highway exit. www.sdnhm.org/canyoneers

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon: Lace up those running shoes and get ready to run the fifth largest marathon in the country: The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. Forty bands will perform live on 26 entertainment stages that will line the 26.2 scenic mile course. Mile by mile, 20,000 runners and walkers will be inspired by the beat of reggae, jazz, country, funk, and good old fashioned rock ‘n’ roll music. Two thousand high-energy, local high school cheerleaders will also be positioned along the route to entertain and invigorate participants and spectators alike. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is fun to participate in or just watch and includes a finish line festival and post race concert. The marathon kicks off at 6:30 a.m., with the festival opening at 7:30 a.m. The race kicks off at Palm and Sixth avenues near Balboa Park. For more information visit www.rnrmarathon.com.

Recess: The San Diego chapter of The Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) will host a fund-raiser benefiting the organization from 4-6 p.m. at the Tractor Room. The event, sponsored by Johnny Rivera and The Tractor Room, will give participants the opportunity to eat, drink, mingle, and learn about the work that GLSEN is doing on behalf of our students. Tickets are $35 for members and teachers, $50 for non-members and $60 at the door. The GLSEN strives to assure each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. Voting is Sexy: Vote in the California Primary Election! Voting is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to take action. The Cure: The Cure, founded in 1976 as Easy Cure is on tour and hotter than ever. The rock-pop group began work on its most recent album in spring 2007. The Cure 4 Tour 2007-2008 kicked off in July 2007 and will stop in San Diego on June 3 for a performance at The Cox Arena. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show range in price from $35-$65 and are available through TicketMaster. This show was rescheduled from October 13, 2007, and tickets from the original date will be honored. HRC Connect: The San Diego Chapter of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) will host its June social event, HRC Connect, from 7-9 p.m. on the outdoor patio of California Cuisine. The HRC Connect events bring together the San Diego GLBT and straight ally community in a social environment to champion equality. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about HRC and membership in the organization. The HRC is the nation’s largest civil rights organization working for GLBT equality. Jazz in the Park: The Geoffrey Keezer Trio, featuring New York bassist Christian McBride and drummer Terreon Gully, returns this year with guest members of the San Diego Symphony to premiere a brand new major work at the San Diego Museum of Art’s Jazz in the Park series. Keezer’s sold-out concert last year proved that he is one of the most dynamic, accomplished pianists in jazz and classical music. Admission is $18 for museum members, $22 for nonmembers, and $10 students. The 5:30 p.m. concert will be held in The San Diego Museum of Art’s James S. Copley Auditorium located at 1450 El Prado in Balboa Park. www.sdmart.org

Tijuana Up & Down: Travel south of the boarder to Tijuana for a Tijuana Up & Down City Tour. Participants will learn about the history and enchantment that draws tourists to the amazing city of Tijuana which is home to four million people. Thousands of shops line the avenue waiting for you to make bargains, along with many restaurants and bars. Avenida Revolucion is known for its famous striped donkey zebras. The tour, provided by the local Five Star Tours company, includes round trip transportation and Mexican lunch, sightseeing of major attractions, and shopping along Ave. Revolucion.
