After recovering from a major health event and much soul searching, a friend told Bryan Garrity he had the skills and knowledge necessary to make the leap from law to mortgage – he hasn’t looked back since.

“Needless to say, it was some of the best advice I have ever received,” Garrity said, noting that his background working as a law clerk in personal injury law was perfect to complement the transition to the mortgage business at Award Mortgage.

“I have been in the mortgage business for approximately five years now and love it,” he said.

Award Mortgage offers and specializes in all types of financing. Garrity said that he is still able to provide first time homebuyers with the possibility of 100 percent financing which pretty much has dissipated from the landscape in the past year.

“I am able to do any type of government loan program to include FHA, VA, CALVET, and CALHFA to name a few. I also offer conventional and ‘hard to fit’ financing solutions for most individuals,” he said.

With the change in the landscape of mortgage, Garrity has also started a division of Award Mortgage that focuses on loan modifications for troubled homeowners.

Garrity’s business provides services to assist those in loans that they cannot afford or will have trouble affording at their adjustment period so that the homeowner can remain in their home at a payment they can afford despite their home value.

“If we cannot keep the borrower in their loan, then we work closely with our referral partners to offer reasonable alternatives to the foreclosure process,” he said.
