Man arrested, out on bail after attack on local waiter
Case classified as domestic violence

A man accused of slashing his ex-boyfriend’s face was arrested and immediately posted bail last week.
According to a police report, the suspect, Amier Issa, 31, attacked his ex-boyfriend with a knife in the 1200 block of Essex Street in Hillcrest.
The victim, a waiter at a popular local restaurant, left work about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11. The suspect followed him from work and slashed the right side of the victim’s face. The suspect then fled the scene.
A Western Division officer who responded to the call directed Northern Division officers to search the suspect’s Pacific Beach residence and other known residences. Issa was not found.
The suspect turned himself in Tuesday, July 15, before a warrant could be issued for his arrest. He was booked by a domestic violence detective on aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon charges. He posted an $80,000 bail and was released. A temporary restraining order by the victim was placed against the suspect.
A call to the victim was not returned Tuesday.
The San Diego Police Department has classified the case as domestic violence, said Monica Munoz, a spokesperson for the department.
