Mike Martin began tattooing in 1983 with a little help from his friends, Debi Kienel and Jeffery Sylvester.

Martin founded Flesh Skin Grafix Tattoo & Body Piercing (FSG Inc.) as a small two-man shop in 1994. Around the same time, he attended Fakir Intensives Basic and Advance workshops in San Francisco, and also began performing body piercing.

“I’m grateful to those who taught me the trade,” Martin said. “I would not have made it this far without their help.”

It is because of such guidance that FSG Inc., which has grown to include five artists, has successfully provided quality and professional tattoos and body piercing – leaving its mark on people and all around the world.

“All our artists are professionals who excel in all styles of tattooing, from custom pieces, traditional, tribal, Japanese and portraits,” Martin said, noting there are plenty of reasons that customers return to him time and time again.

His accreditations and affiliations speak for themselves.

Martin is a member of the Tattoo Club of Japan, National Tattoo Association, and the Alliance of Professional Tatooists (APT).

Martin’s professional affiliations extend into his community involvement, where he serves as a health education director for APT and is a prevention of disease and transmission instructor.

He is an active member of the Sm leather organization, Club X, and the San Diego League of Gentlemen, where he volunteers his time doing presentations on safe play, blood born pathogens and body piercing demonstrations.
