Letters to the Editor

“If ManHunt was an advertiser in your publication, I GUARANTEE that you would have NEVER written that editorial.”
Dear Editor:
After reading your pathetic editorial about ManHunt, I was both frustrated and outraged. Frustrated because I’m tired how (in many ways) our community acts like children in a sandbox. If someone doesn’t follow the gay agenda to a T, we immediately jump on the bandwagon and pounce. Your attempt to a “that-a-boy, “pat-on-the-back” editorial, fell way short with me. Why don’t you try being the responsible gay publication, that you should be, and focus more on writing editorials that can make a difference. Why don’t you attack the MANY in our community who use meth like candy? Why don’t you attack the MANY in our community who have unprotected sex on a daily basis?
I’m outraged because I know how publications, like yours, works. If ManHunt was an advertiser in your publication, I GUARANTEE that you would have NEVER written that editorial. I always find it amazing how opinions and attitudes change when full-page ads are purchased on a regular basis. Since they don’t advertise with you, it’s open-game with the bashing.
I am no longer a fan of your publication.

“Unlike his opponent, Todd [Gloria] has spent his entire life in this community and his entire career serving San Diego.”
Dear Editor:
I read last week’s Letters to the Editor with interest. As long as random members of the community are sharing who they are voting for in November, I’d like to tell you that I’m voting for Todd Gloria.
Unlike his opponent, Todd has spent his entire life in this community and his entire career serving San Diego. As a result, he was encouraged to run for office and looks to be a safe bet to win in November.
On the other hand, Steve Whitburn wanted to run for office, so he moved to San Diego, at which point he decided he would start to serve the community. Appropriately, the voters rewarded him with far fewer votes in June.
The choices are stark. Vote Todd Gloria.
