‘Another Gay Sequel’: The San Diego premier of Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild! will be shown at the Landmark Hillcrest Cinemas. Another Gay Movie was about getting laid for the first time, now Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild! is about who can get laid the most. The film follows Andy, Nico, Jarod and Griff as they reunite in Fort Lauderdale for Spring Break and participate in a contest called “Gays Gone Wild” to determine who can attain the most “butt love” over the course of the vacation. Showtimes are 2:10 p.m., 4:55, 7:40, and 10:15. Tickets can be purchased online at www.landmarktheaters.com. The Landmark Hillcrest Cinemas is located at 3965 Fifth Ave. #200.
L3: The L3 (Ladies, Laughter and Literature) Women’s Book Club will screen Eve Ensler’s DVD, What I Want My Words to Do tao You at 7 p.m. at The San Diego LGBT Community Center’s Community Resource Room. Ensler began working with 15 women at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility to write a movie about women in prison. Intending to work with them for a few months, she continued meeting with the group for eight years. The film culminates in an emotionally charged prison performance of the women’s writing by acclaimed actors Mary Alice, Glenn Close, Hazelle Goodman, Rosie Perez and Marisa Tomei. House.Boi Celebrates One Year: How does a fashionable, trendy, stylish boi celebrate his first birthday? He does it by “movin’ & shakin’”! House.Boi, North Park’s premier men’s fashion and home furnishings boutique, invites the community to the first anniversary celebration from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event will feature an open house, giveaways and a bar by p.i.n.k. Family Game Time: Family Matters invites families with children and those considering parenthood to an afternoon of playing board games and creating arts and crafts at The Center. Participants are encouraged to bring family photos to make special arts and crafts projects. Family Matters will provide the board games, and there will be a wide selection. There will also be a room supplied with toys, games and cartoons for the smaller kids to play. Pizza, juice and soft drinks will be served. Cost is just $10 per family. Hillcrest Comedy: Stand-up comedy invades Hillcrest! Hillcrest Comedy, which spotlights local stand-up talent, holds a show inside the beautiful Bamboo Lounge on the second Sunday of every month with different comedians appearing each time. Patrons have the option of drinking and dining at the venue. This month’s headline performer is Tim Wilkins as seen on HBO and CBS, and the show will be hosted by Ophelia Later. Cover is $4. SDHDF Boat Cruise: The San Diego Human Dignity Foundation (SDHDF) invites community members to attend the organization’s annual champagne brunch and boat cruise, “Catch the Spirit!” The cruise honors the generous individuals and organizations that have set up funds with SDHDF to benefit the GLBT community, and those who have joined the Legacy Society and Foundation Club. Boarding begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Broadway Pier and the yacht will cruise San Diego Bay until 2 p.m. SDHDF funds programs and projects that promote equal treatment, tolerance, wellness, well being, and above all else, human dignity. Film Festival Pre-Party: The San Diego Film Festival will host a special pre-festival party at Hawthorn’s Restaurant Lounge, celebrating the film Residue. The film brings attention to the atrocities of the Khmer regime, and exposes the faults in how the American government responded to the unstable environment in Southeast Asia in the 1970s. BIG! FUN! COWBOY! Bingo: Don’t miss The Center’s monthly bingo night! This month is BIG! FUN! COWBOY! Bingo from 7-9 p.m. The event includes guest callers, show tunes, fun contests, door prizes and more than $1,000 in cash prizes. The best theme costume wins a prize. Cost is $15 to play a pack and $20 for a double with all proceeds supporting The Center’s programs and services. All players must be 18 years or older. Taste of Downtown: The leading “taste” event in San Diego, Taste of Downtown, will take place from 5-9 p.m. throughout the diverse neighborhoods of Downtown San Diego, benefiting the Downtown San Diego Partnership. The self-guided culinary adventure will give participants the opportunity to sample ethnic specialties and classic creations from some of the finest restaurants in the city. A free shuttle will also be available for all participants and will make frequent stops between all of the restaurants throughout the evening. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 on the day of the event. Sister Suicide Scareoke: The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will host Bourbon Street’s Suicide Scaraoke – “fingering someone to sing a song of your choice.” The Sisters will keep the crowd entertained all night long as brave participants take the microphone and “scare-nade” the audience. Sign-up begins at 9:30 p.m. with the show at 10 p.m. “You-call-it” shots will be available all night long for $2. Proceeds benefit the Sisters’ Condom Fund.
