‘Youth Out Loud’
Here in San Diego, Sun & Moon Vision Productions, a non-profit video production company founded by Becky and Kathy Sangha, is working on its sequel documentary to the groundbreaking, Youth Out Loud! It is used at the Teacher Education Program at University of California-San Diego, high school Gay Straight Alliances, and San Diego’s largest youth care provider agencies, San Diego Youth & Community Services and Casey Family services for staff trainings. The original Youth Out Loud!, which comes with a resource guide and was released in 2000, was used by the “Oprah Winfrey Show” as part of its research on its segment on transgender kids. The original 20-minute documentary can be viewed at www.sunandmoonvision.org.

Macy’s Fashion Cinema event to benefit HIV/AIDS service projects
Macy’s Passport “Fashion Cinema” will take place on Saturday, October 23 at AMC Mission Valley 20.
The San Diego screening of the event will benefit The San Diego Men’s Chorus’ “Nourishing the Soul” program, which gives main stage concert tickets to clients of local HIV/AIDS service organizations, including Special Delivery.
Included in the ticket price is a 6 p.m. champagne reception at Macy’s Home Store Mission Valley. The cost of admission also includes complimentary theatre concessions and an exclusive Macy’s shopping discount.

Course for people living with HIV starting at The Center
The San Diego LGBT Community Center’s Positive Action program is offering a comprehensive educational course for people living with HIV. The course, called Positive Living, focuses on being HIV-positive and maintaining mental, emotional, and physical health.
Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 28, Positive Living will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. for four weeks at The Center, located at 3909 Centre Street. The course is free and food and beverage will be provided.

San Diego Row for the Cure to take place Oct. 26
On October 26, the University of California, San Diego rowing team along with Komen San Diego will host its 7th Annual Row for the Cure at North Ski Beach on Mission Bay. The race will begin at 8 a.m.

Facilitated by Michael Kimmel, MA, MSW, LCSW, this workshop will explore the relationship between mental, physical and sexual health.
