‘Scrooge in Rouge’: Diversionary Theatre presents the West Coast premiere of Scrooge in Rouge – A British Music Hall Christmas Carol. The new holiday show, which runs through Dec. 21, provides a quick-change, cross-dressing version of the Dickens classic, set in a Victorian music hall. In this version 17 members of the Royal Music Hall 20-Member Variety Players have taken ill, leaving only three actors to play 23 roles. Charlie Schmaltz, an animated character actor; Lottie Obligato, an Amazonian soubrette; and Vesta Virile, male impersonator extraordinaire sing all the male and female parts in the show. Directed by Rayme Sciaroni, with costumes by Jennifer Brawn Gittings, and a cast featuring Eric Vest, Kim Srassburger, Tony Houck and Rick Shaffer at the piano, this will be the gayest Christmas show you’ll see this year! Scrooge in Rouge begins at 7 p.m. Single tickets are $31-$35 with discounts for seniors, students and military. For more information, visit www.gaylesbiantimes.com/link/1092.
