Todd Devin started his real estate career in 1994 with traditional firms, including Prudential and Re/Max, but quickly found that the high commissions and corporate bureaucracy were restricting his ultimate goal: “To provide individualized service and save my clients the most amount of money possible.”

So in 1998, after being awarded his broker’s license, he opened Devin Properties to serve all of San Diego and Riverside counties.

“I know my clients work hard for their money – that is why I provide my full service marketing for home sellers for far less than the six percent commission charged by most firms, using all of today’s current technology and advertising venues,” Devin says. “My past clients will tell you that I sold their property for the highest profile in the least amount of time – all while saving them thousands of dollars.”

Devin, a Southern California native, and partner Eddie Dunkel currently reside in Point Loma, where they spend most of their free time renovating their home.

Devin sees a benefit in working with the GLBT community, believing that home ownership is the first step to financial power. Owning a home in turn results in increased visibility and economic power that effects social and political change.

“The more our civic leaders and neighbors see the gay and lesbian community as an empowered, tax paying entity, the more they will have to address the issues that we want heard,” he says.

Devin has also been a fundraiser for the San Diego Domestic Violence Council and various HIV/AIDS charities, and has always donated a portion of his business profits to local organizations.
