“Why does Israel have to give up what little Holy Land it has left after 3,000-plus years?”
Dear Editor:
Re: Nicole’s “GLBT anti-Israel sentiment in San Diego”
Gosh almighty, if Queers and Jews weren’t already repressed as it is...
Why does it always come down to Israel giving up land for peace, when its neighbors don’t really want peace?
As Israel continues to make concessions to withdraw from land that is historically hers, I happened on a most interesting Web site: www.masada2000.org/historical.html. The historical significance detailed cannot be denied.
After reading so many op-ed pieces extolling the virtues of the cease-fire and future road map to peace, are we really sure the creation of yet another Arab state from historic Israeli Holy Land will finally lead to peace for Israel and acceptance of the Jews’ right to exist?
How can Israel be considered the occupier of its own Holy Land? The Dome of the Rock sits atop the Temple Mount. That kind of flawed logic is like saying the United States doesn’t utilize the wide-open spaces of Montana, so therefore the Canadians have a right to annex it.
England is not asking for the return of our Atlantic seaboard since losing the Revolutionary War. Argentines are not going to the British Isles and blowing themselves up after the Falklands dustup. The French did not renege on the price of the Louisiana Purchase. Mexicans are not sending homicide bombers across our borders to reclaim Texas, California and the rest of the Southwest.
Why does Israel have to give up what little Holy Land it has left after 3,000-plus years?
