“I support The Center, but I have lost confidence in your leadership abilities. In these difficult financial times, every dollar counts.”

An open letter to Dr. Delores Jacobs:

The editorial in the GL Times dated January 22, “A time to rally for The Center”, asked the community to rally behind the Center in these difficult times. The response to that editorial seems to be in favor of your resignation. I support The Center, but I have lost confidence in your leadership abilities. In these difficult financial times, every dollar counts. If the community loses confidence in how money is generated/handled at The Center, then future donations and funding will dry up, and the would be devastating to the ongoing projects that The Center funds. I believe you should tender your resignation, effective immediately.

Dear Editor:

Florida Log Cabin Republican Matthew Tsien (Letters 1/22/09) praises Bush and his “military commitment that liberated 50+ million people in Iraq”. In reality, Bush started a war based on false pretenses that has led to the deaths of over 4,000 U.S. servicemen plus the wounding of at least 30,000 more. It is estimated that over 1.3 million Iraqis have also died. The war has destabilized the Middle East, caused a strain on our military and will have cost more than $1 trillion when all is said and done. Yes, thank you George W. Bush for this “liberation” and all the other acts of incompetence perpetrated during your administration.

And Mr. Tsien, based on your ability to ignore the obvious, you may also want to consider joining the Flat Earth Society, Holocaust Deniers, or perhaps a dissident group that doesn’t believe HIV causes AIDS. (By the way, one of the most famous AIDS skeptics, Christine Maggiore, died recently at age 52.)
