Cine Gay International Short Film Program: Part of the 16th Annual San Diego Film Festival 2009, the film program features several gay-and lesbian-themed Spanish film shorts with English subtitles and will be shown at the UltraStar Mission Valley Cinemas at Hazard Center at 3:30 p.m. The program includes Campillo Sí, Quiero, an insightful documentary about a small Spanish village that took a stand on equality and said “I Do” to same-sex marriage and transformed an entire community. Other short films include gay Ken dolls, lesbian spies, chatty tourists and a late-night booty call. The program is strictly for mature audiences. Organ concert: Organist Carol Anne Williams will perform at the historic Spreckels Organ Pavillion at 2 p.m. Williams’ performances have taken her all over the world, including St. Sulpice, Notre Dame, Paris and Westminster Abbey. In 2001, Williams became the first woman to be appointed civic organist in the United States and has been the San Diego civic organist and artistic director of the Spreckels Organ Society in San Diego ever since.
