Mainly Mozart: Nathan Hughes, St. Petersburg String Quartet and Anton Nel will perform at the Balboa Theatre at 8 p.m. The St. Petersburg String Quartet, Nel on piano and Hughes on oboe will perform Rossini’s String Sonata No. 3 in C, Gounod’s Petite Symphonie in B flat, Tchaikovsky’s Elegy from Hamlet and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17 in G, K. 453. ‘World of Jewtopia’: David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre will host World of Jewtopia at 8:15 p.m. World of Jewtopia is a funny and dazzling multimedia extravaganza featuring stars Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson, creators and stars of Off-Broadway and L.A. Family Matters Fun: The San Diego LGBT Community Center will host Family Matters Fun at 4 p.m. Family Matters Fun is a family event that includes board games, card games, puzzles, arts & crafts, an infant and toddler space and a Wii competition on the big screen. Chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, and fresh green salad will be served. RSVPs are required to ensure supplies. Nicky Awards: The Birch North Park Theatre will host the Nicky Awards at 7:30 p.m. The Nicky Awards called, “the gay Academy Awards of San Diego,” honor local individuals, groups and businesses that make the local GLBT community what it is today. Proceeds will benefit the San Diego LGBT Community Center and the Imperial Court de San Diego. San Diego Women’s Chorus: The San Diego Women’s Chorus will perform at the University Christian Church at 4 p.m. The San Diego Women’s Chorus is a non-audition, community-based chorus open to women of all sexual orientations, ages, ethnicities and skill levels. Reading music is a plus but not a requirement. The music of SDWC speaks to issues as diverse as human rights, love, world peace, religious freedom, environmental harmony, inclusion and cultural diversity. Rock-Step: Rock-Step hosts a series of western dance classes at The Center starting at 6:30 p.m. Rock-Step offers the LGBT community, as well as families and friends, an environment that allows everyone – regardless of skill level – to experience the pure joy of dancing. Beginners are encouraged to attend. No partner necessary. Rock-Step is a community of dancers embracing the values of inclusiveness, respect and good ol’ country kindness and hospitality. Bingo: The Center hosts Bingo in its auditorium at 7 p.m. Games include U-Pick-Em and Double Action. The event raises funds for The Center’s programs and services. It costs $15 to play a 10-game pack. Additional game packs cost $5 each. An early-bird game begins at 6:50 p.m. Lucky guests will win non-cash prizes just for walking in the door including Starbucks cards and donated gift certificates to local restaurants.
