A native San Diegan who graduated from La Jolla High School and San Diego State University, Vic Esquer has served the dog community for more than 25 years, spending 10 of them managing Canine Lodge, an environmentally friendly, full-service dog boarding and grooming facility.

Canine Lodge offers “dog boarding in a country setting.” Dogs are given quality, affordable boarding with free playtime in a two-acre country setting, fed premium dog foods and given a complimentary bath with organic shampoos before going home. Full-service grooming and spa treatment is available for an extra fee. The lodge also offers day care, dog training and hosts special events throughout the year. Discounts are available for seniors, military and longterm boarding. Pick up and delivery is available in most San Diego areas for a charge.

Though running the kennel is time consuming, Esquer finds the time to attend fund raisers and events that support all facets of the community, especially those that focus on pets, like Pets Are Wonderful Support or PAWS.

Until recently, San Diego did not have a GLBT friendly canine boarding facility. Esquer is happy to be one of the few that now provide such services to the community and invites all to schedule a “meet and greet” and tour of the lodge in beautiful Blossom Valley.
