“Your story is infected with poisonous venom, Mr. Dixon.”
Regarding Bo Dixon:
Stop being the victim and accept responsibility for your choices Bo Dixon. I read your article and within the first several minutes found myself asking, “Is this guy for real?” I mean, you sign on to do a porn movie with Hothouse Entertainment and don’t expect that they are going to advertise the movie utilizing your photograph all over the internet. What year were you born? In this day of technological advances, nothing stays restrained very long at all. Everything in your article reeked of the “blame game” and how you had been victimized through your own naiveté. Have you really taken a good look at your body in the mirror? Of course, a company is going to plaster your assets all over the internet to promote their movie. You moved to Virginia to move in with someone who promised to give you a job at AOL. Did you ever consider investigating the matter before making that gigantic leap?
Your story is infected with poisonous venom that originates from a state of non acceptance of your own decision and foolish choices, Mr. Dixon. While many of us wish that our bodies were as flawless as yours, we can at least accept the responsibilities for our actions and choices. If something sounds too good to be true, then it probably comes with strings or sacrifices.
You made a choice to appear in the scene for “Paging Dr. Finger,” so you have to live with it regardless of the outcome. Try doing your current partner a favor, and stop trying to elicit false sympathy from him based upon his feelings for you. Just be yourself by being original and those who truly love you will not judge you in any way. I would like to know more about your ability to think, your personal convictions and who you are as a person. The stage acts, whether they are of a pornographic nature or that of body building competitions, are just that. The real Bo Dixon is who I would want to know, not a role that you play.
Use your fame to implore others to work for gay rights and marriage equality. Give back to the community that supports you and many of whom are buying your movie just to see your nude godlike body. Get with the program and be a real normal person. Just because you are gay doesn’t imply that you have to “live DRAMA” in your life.
Best wishes to you and your partner.

“It is sad that some in the Gay Community have allowed drugs to be the gateway to express pride with dire consequences like HIV.”
Dear Editor:
Last weeks comment section titled “Healthy Pride” was a shot of reality for many of us in the San Diego Gay and Lesbian Community. As a long time resident of Hillcrest I see the ill effects of alcohol and other drugs first hand every weekend. I know as Pride approaches and the party scene ramps up 100% that inhibitions will be set aside for the celebration. Let us not forget that a good portion of “PRIDE” should be the pride we take in keeping our community healthy. Let’s take that Pride and implement it in creating an environment that allows us to celebrate and honor pride instead of degrading it. I encourage the community to allow us other avenues to be proud and enjoy this event for what it was meant to be. It is sad that some in the Gay Community have allowed intoxicants like alcohol and other drugs to be the gateway to express pride with dire consequences like substance abuse and HIV. The intoxicant for this event should not come in the form of a beverage or a drug it should come from the knowledge that thousands of others are marching in unity and are no longer afraid to be counted.
