Second Thoughts From Normal Heights: Opening reception for Andrew Printer’s photography exhibition at Agitprop starts at 6 p.m. The exhibition titled “Second Thoughts From Normal Heights” includes 12 photographs that address gay male representation. Each photograph lifts a convoluted gesture, pose or tactic employed by a 20th century gay photographer in the name of desire and drops it into a variety of domestic spaces. The work of George Platt-Lynes, Robert Mapplethorpe, Bob Mizer, Thomas Eakins and Wilhelm von Gloeden are among those referenced in Printer’s work. GLU is a San Diego-based social organization dedicated to fostering harmony within the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and transgender community, with a global emphasis on tolerance. Members share a common interest in the Asian culture and are dedicated to fostering ethnic unity and diversity. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
