Paul Cody – founder of Hillcrest Compassion Care (HCC) – has a vision: to empower and challenge people with disabilities to achieve their greatest potential though advocacy and education. HCC is a non-profit organization that provides medical cannabis to the sick and ailing and health education and social support to the general community.
HCC is dedicated to helping and caring for the well-being of its members in a safe and friendly environment. It does this by offering classes and groups, including meditation and yoga, cannabis growing, art and sign language. The nonprofit also provides various supportive groups, including a veterans support group and fun events, including a music night.
In addition to its classes and support groups, HCC offers a variety of cannabis strains and edibles. HCC operates its collective in compliance with Health & Safety Code 11362.5, Prop 215 and SB420. A valid doctor’s recommendation and a valid California ID are required, and you must be at least 21. HCC is open Monday through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m.
HCC is also heavily involved in the GLBT community. It had a float in the San Diego Pride Parade and a booth at the festival and it is always looking for ways to get more involved.
