Aspen prepares for annual Gay Ski Week
Jan. 25-Feb. 1 will mark largest gathering of GLBT skiers

Aspen, CO – Aspen Gay and Lesbian Community Fund is preparing for the 27th Annual Aspen Gay and Lesbian Ski Week. The event will be held starting Jan. 25 and continue through Feb. 1, 2004.
Aspen Gay and Lesbian Ski Week has a full range of on and off mountain activities such as skiing and snowboarding, après ski parties and tea dances, special ski clinics, a bargain filled silent auction, cocktail receptions, gallery openings, upscale store boutique parties, its very own film festival, friendship dinners, women’s events, special entertainment performances, comedy nights, nightly dance parties and much more.
The Coors Light annual downhill costume contest and parade, one of the most popular events for Ski Week is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 30. An outrageous afternoon of costumes and regalia with prizes, dancing, laughter and fun that continues with an après ski and tea dance.

Aspen Gay and Lesbian Ski Week designates one of Aspen’s four ski mountains daily for skiing and snowboarding. Beginner skiing and snowboarding clinics and group refresher lessons will be offered all through the week at special discounts. Ski Week attendees will also have access this year to special discounted rates on lift passes when they purchase an event pass through our hospitality suite.
New this year, Ski Week will be hosting a pool party to end all pool parties. The new Aspen Recreation Center will be the site of this first annual event. A full line-up of DJs, entertainment, and cocktails are a great compliment to this event, with a capacity of over 600 people.
The Aspen Gay & Lesbian Filmfest will also coincide with Aspen Gay and Lesbian Ski Week, bringing the latest in GLBT films. Submissions by filmmakers are now being solicited. Gay Ski Week raises money to combat acts of discrimination based on sexual orientation within schools, businesses, organizations and community through education and understanding.
