Dear Editor:
As a longtime board member of Equality California, I am proud of EQCA’s decision to return to the ballot in 2012 to restore marriage for same-sex couples. EQCA believes in inclusion, and that’s why we have listened to all of our coalition partners including people of color and faith groups. Many of these key allies, including organizations that provide critical support services to the LGBT community, feel that we need more time to build support among voters and to raise the millions of dollars to mount an effective campaign.
We’re already on the ground sharing our stories and talking to our neighbors, co-workers and community members. I urge you to join us as we work to change hearts and minds of San Diego residents over the next three years.
Sincerely,
Tom Maddox
Equality California Boardmember

“Posting in the common areas like the bulletin boards are approved by staff using the guideline of consistency with the idea of promoting a welcoming environment for all whom we serve. There is no prohibition of nudity contained in that policy.”
I am personally unaware of the issue with Mr. Printer’s poster; however, The Center DOES NOT have a “no nude art” policy. Posting in the common areas like the bulletin boards are approved by staff using the guideline of consistency with the idea of promoting a welcoming environment for all whom we serve. There is no prohibition of nudity contained in that policy. Further, if at any time anyone believes a misjudgment has been made for any reason, by a staff member or volunteer, they are invited to call, email or meet with me to discuss and resolve the issue.
