“God should continue to deprive the entire gay community of ever having gay marriage.”
It is appropriate that you should point out the vain, self-centered, egotistical celebration of greedy self that is at the core and essence of the gay community. The fact that teens are dying via the committing of suicide and the gay community is not only doing absolutely positively nothing, but they are turning their collective heads and they are casting attention away from this huge major problem all for the self-serving interest of funding a campaign for gay marriage. God should continue to deprive the entire gay community of ever having gay marriage until the community can for once get its priorities in line and take care of the exceedingly most important things first. When did vanity become more important than human life?

“We should do what Taiwan did with their health care.”
We should do what Taiwan did with their health care. Visit other nations with Universal/Nationalized/Socialized health care and take those best practices. The approval rate for the Taiwan plan is quite high. Within the US, look at Howard County MD and Massachusetts.
Also, the focus should be focused on preventative, better eating and nutrition, require foodstamps to be only used for non-processed foods no junk, no sugar, etc.
The consumer must also pay into the system to mitigate costs (monthly premium) and that efficiencies within the health care system must be moved forward (standardized forms developed by the hospitals/medical community), better billing and standardized billing processes, etc
I am one for health care, but we must not rush nor push something through that has not been fully vetted and examined by a panel who has impartiality and not beholden to insurance companies. The benefit should always be to the people not the corporations.

“Anything that won’t bring down the cost of healthcare in America is a sham.”
The pro-reformers were not representative of the overall population that is skeptical of a government-run system. The meeting seemed like a stacked deck to me, carefully arranged by the hosts and the Davis staff people to make it look like we all want the government playing an active role in deciding what’s best for all of us.
Anything that won’t bring down the cost of healthcare in America is a sham. Let those who say “any bill is better than no bill” get that through their thick skulls. Check with the Congressional Budget Office if you doubt me.

“Perhaps now the able bodied individuals who attend SDPozabilities midday coffee might go out and get a job.”
Perhaps now some of the able bodied individuals who attend the SDPozabilities midday coffee clatches might find incentive to go out and get a job with health insurance instead of sitting around bitching endlessly about how little they get from Social Security Disability. I actually had several of these guys sitting with me at a table once complaining incessantly about how “little” they received. One guy stated he only got $1200/month from SSI, another lamented the fact that he was getting only $800/month from SSDisability plus almost $1500 from his private disability carrier. And this was typical of the comments! Hey it’s a lot more than I EARN! The conversation ended when two of the guys announced that they were off to the gym!! PLEASE!!
