Timothy John Young

Dec. 9, 1960 – Sept. 10, 2009

Timothy John Young entered the kingdom of heaven after losing a courageous battle to liver cancer on Sept. 10, 2009. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.

Tim is survived by his father and step-mother Michael and Kathy Young of Denver; brothers Robb of Laguna and Rich (Kathleen); three beautiful children Sarah (Shelby), Matthew and Stephen and his precious grandsons Kadell and Drake all of Colorado. Tim is also survived by ex-wife Ruth Smith of Colorado and his partner Wayne Dietz of San Diego. Tim was blessed with many friends: Henry, Craig, Tom, Cherokee, David and Jim and Frank and Scott. Friends and family say Tim had a magnetic personality, a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh that lead him to create life long friendships.

A very special thank you to Michelle and Laurie nurses at USC; the wonderful 11th floor staff at UCSD and the 8th floor staff at Scripps Mercy Hospital. The family would also like to recognize the support from Dr. Lonergan at the Owen’s Clinic and the wonderful support of San Diego Hospice, especially Sonia, Kevin and Almaz.

A funeral mass will be held in at the Blessed Sacrament Church, located at 6657 Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. Two celebrations of life will follow the mass. The first celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27 at Tim’s home and the second in Los Angeles on Saturday, Oct. 3.
