Timothy Palmer, owner of Palmer Skin Care & Massage, started the business about two years ago because he wanted to offer skin care and massage services, often associated with women, to men. “Just as a woman would feel more comfortable getting a bikini wax from another woman, the same principal applies to men,” Palmer said.

Palmer Skin Care & Massage offers a wide variety of skin care services, such as micro dermabrasion, photofacials, chemical peels and classic rejuvenating facials. Palmer’s focus is on body treatments, including body scrubs, cellulite treatment and, recently added, sunless-airbrush tanning. A large part of what Palmer does is waxing and male grooming or what some call “manscaping.” “Men want to be treated and feel just as groomed as women do,” Palmer said. “And I provide a relaxing atmosphere for my clients to look and feel their very best.”

In terms of education, Palmer has studied massage therapy and holistic health and recently completed the Holistic Health Practitioner Program at Mueller College of Holistic Studies. “I am passionate about the path I have chosen,” Palmer said.

Palmer is also an outgoing person and enjoys being involved in the local GLBT community, participating every year in San Diego AIDS Walk and San Diego LGBT Pride. Palmer also gives his support and business to gay owned enterprises. When free time does roll around, Palmer likes to spend his time with family and friends and enjoying San Diego’s “wonderful atmosphere.”
