What is currently your favorite restaurant?
The place I eat at most often is the Whole Foods deli. I can set my own portion sizes and choose from a wide variety of nicely prepared dishes that span all the food groups.
Do you have a favorite dish from any San Diego restaurant?
Not really. “Dishes” I’ve eaten repeatedly include Baja Fresh’s Baja Ensalada and Brians’ “The Works” omelet made with egg substitute.
What is your favorite lunch spot?
Whole Foods.
How often do you cook at home?
Once or twice a day.
Do you prefer cooking with others or banish all human life from your kitchen?
I cook alone.
Name three items that are always in your refrigerator.
Vegetables, fruit, milk.
Name three people, living or dead, you’d most like to invite for dinner.
Locally, my friends Fergal O’Doherty, Alfonso Martínez and Jason Farr. I enjoy stimulating dinnertime conversation with cool, confident people who think for themselves, don’t take life too seriously, and tend to eschew assimilation by the predictable American boxes and paradigms.
