“Maybe instead of exchanging gifts with each other, adopt a family in need and furnish food and toys for a family who would of had nothing until you stepped in.”
Dear Editor:
This is the holiday season, we just celebrated Thanksgiving and now we are going to celebrate Christmas and New Year. It nice to be able to have the joy of coming together and being excited for the Holidays, knowing we will be with family and friends to enjoy each other during these special times. For many people these times brings them down and they get depress, many feeling lonely and no one to share these times with. Many of us, our friends and even Family members are losing their jobs, or they just have less income coming in. So I encourage all of us to take the time to show more compassion with each other. Maybe instead of exchanging gifts with each other, adopt a family in need and furnish food and toys for a family who would of had nothing until you stepped in. Or if you have a Christmas tree decorating party and you ask your guest to bring a ornament for your tree ask them to bring a unwrapped toy to put under it for a child who would not receive a toy at all. Or ask your guest to bring blankets for those living on the streets so they may stay warm while you sleep in your comfortable bed. Now even more than ever so many people are having a hard time just surviving and how wonderful it would be to step up and bring just a little joy to someone else’s life. It will change your as well. If you would like to be a Santa this year in giving back or you already do these kind and giving gestures of love and would like to continue, may I suggest The Imperial Court’s, Toy Drive, Blanket Drive and combing our efforts with Family Matters and The Latino Service through the LGBT Community Center adopt a family to serve a Christmas meal. I welcome and invite any and all who would open your hearts and wallets to join me in making these Holidays a little easier and happier for our fellow man. You can contact me at 619-807-7324 or e-mail me at bm575@aol.com and just say I want to help. Let’s come together so ALL OF US will have a wonderful Holiday as one.
Thank you for your help,
big mike
