South Bay Subaru opened its doors as San Diego’s only exclusive Subaru dealer on August 1, 2009. Previously the dealership was a Saturn franchise; however since General Motors has pulled the Saturn brand, dealers were left to cover a wide margin without help from the manufacturer. This turned the Saturn franchise into a Subaru store.

Because South Bay Subaru is the only exclusive Subaru dealership in San Diego, it caters to the Subaru owner differently than any other dealership. Subaru owners deserve to be treated number one. South Bay Subaru treats its customers the way they should be treated. Without the customer, we would not exist,” South Bay Subaru General Manager Tina Pratt said.

Pratt takes pride in being a part of the local GLBT community. “The community is my extended family,” Pratt said, who became legally married to her same-sex partner Christian before Proposition 8 passed. The two live in San Diego with their four dogs and two cats.

Pratt also volunteers with several GLBT nonprofit organizations. She has volunteered at the San Diego LGBT Community Center as a moderator for its Monday night women’s group, is a San Diego Pride sponsor and volunteers for the annual AIDS Walk. “The LGBT community is a wonderful part of San Diego, and I appreciate the many outlets it gives to anyone in need,” Pratt said.
