In 1983 Dr. Carol Hollan opened her private practice, becoming the first female plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in San Diego County. She offers aesthetic surgical procedures such as: laser resurfacing, liposuction and facelifts; non-surgical procedures such as Botox, lip augmentation and micro-pigmentation; and reconstructive procedures such as removal of excess male breast tissue and excision and treatment of skin cancer. In addition to being a respected, competent and skilled surgeon, Dr. Hollan has a discriminating eye for detail and a total commitment to patient satisfaction.
Besides offering traditionally recognized plastic surgery services, Dr. Hollan’s office also includes a skin care division, Skintegrity, where patients can receive a variety of services including chemical peels, facials, permanent make up, treatment of acne, sun damage and simple aging changes. Skintegrity offers a full line of skin care products comprised of the best of different skin care lines.
Dr. Carol Hollan has an extensive background as a family practice physician, post-graduate training in internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery and more than 17 years in private practice. She was the keynote speaker for the San Diego Women’s Health & Beauty Forum in 2002 and 2003.
Reconstructive and cosmetic surgery demands a physician who is a nurturer, educator, scientist, and artist — all these characteristics describe Dr. Carol Hollan.
Dr. Hollan contributes to the community in several different ways but mostly she lends her expertise and knowledge to help further the education of students as a Clinical Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at UCSD, where she assists in training medical students and plastic surgery residents. Dr. Hollan’s contributions extend to the international community as well. She is a committed surgeon for Interface, an international field program devoted to surgical treatment of congenital and traumatic childhood deformities in underdeveloped nations. Each year Dr. Hollan travels to Mexico to perform free surgeries for children with deformities.
