“I [don’t] need to support Democrats because Democrats support gay rights.”
This state is bankrupt because of overspending by the Democrats. The national economy is also a disaster thanks to the Democrats in Washington.
Examples at the state level:
1)Former Democratic Speaker of the Assembly Fabian Nunez said that California would only enforce the five year limit on collecting welfare benefits (Clinton Welfare Reform Act, which the individual states enforce)”over my dead body.”
2)LA mayor Antonio Villagairosa and the LA City Council refusing to turn over illegal alien gang members to the border patrol.
3)Democrats in Sacramento and San Diego partnering with each other to purchase an apartment building in Normal Heights for unemployed ex-foster kids, who then moved into the subsidized housing with kids of their own (never mind that they couldn’t even support themselves, much less their own children.)
4)Democrats coddling illegal aliens, who get free emergency room health care and free public education while paying very minimal taxes. The Dems in Sacramento even voted to let illegals in this state pay less tuition at California public colleges and universities than legal U.S. citizens from out of state — proving that a lot of Democrats are more loyal to foreigners than they are to the U.S. citizen taxpayers who pay their salaries.
And then we have the terrible national economy — which is completely the fault of the Democrats, who pressured banks to make home loans to poor people or get sued for “red-lining” and “racial discrimination.”
The banks just took those mandatory lax lending standards and applied them to everyone, knowing that the government (supported by those of us who pay income taxes) would guarantee repayment.
When Bush, McCain and Greenspan questioned this guarantee, Democrat Barney Frank insisted that there was no problem, and said that any reform would threaten “affordable housing” and “diversity.”
I guess I’m just not part of the school of thought that says that I need to support Democrats because Democrats “support” gay rights (Obama doing nothing to get rid of DADT, saying marriage should only be between a man and a woman, and other “support” like that.)
California now has 12%-plus unemployment thanks to the Democrats. The upper and middle class people who pay most of the taxes and invest in businesses that create jobs are leaving the state.
But I guess being gay must make you immune to those problems, so carry on and continue to support the transformation of the U.S. into an impoverished Third World nation. I’m sure you’ll find it delightful.
