Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jewelry Designs is made up of a small but very distinguished and knowledgeable staff that closely caters to clients looking for uniquely designed and crafted jewelry. “We offer a no-pressure setting that allows our clients time to enjoy their visit, and we are more than happy to assist you with any questions you might have,” Benjamin said.
Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jewelry Designs’ service and integrity have been rewarded by The American Gem Society (AGS). Only 5 percent of jewelry stores in the nation receive such an honor. “That means you can feel confident with your purchase and know that we stand behind you and our jewelry!” Benjamin said.
Stuart’s love of jewelry started at the age of 10. He used to dust the showcases of his grandfather’s jewelry store in Downtown. Growing up in the business allowed Stuart to build strong relationships within the city as well as actively participate in the jewelry industry. Stuart is currently the vice president of the California Jewelers Association as well as a member of several other trade organizations.
Barbara Wasserstrom began her career in jewelry in her early 20s. Sharing Benjamin’s love of jewelry, and all things that sparkle, the two decided to become business partners and opened the store together in 1997.
With over 30 years in the industry, Wasserstrom is a founding member and past president of the Women’s Jewelry Association in San Diego and an active member in several organizations.
Wasserstrom and Benjamin have many GLBT clients and many of them say they feel comfortable in the store’s nonjudgmental atmosphere. “We are honored to be trusted by the gay and lesbian community and will continue to give our support in any way possible,” Benjamin said.
