Azuki Sushi is a sushi bar conveniently located on 5th Avenue in Banker’s Hill, quiet close to Laurel Street and Balboa Park.
Azuki Sushi’s executive chef, Hisashi “Nao” Ichimura, oversees the sushi bar and kitchen. He studied in Japan under renowned chef, Kyoshi Otsuka. After 25 years of sushi experience in the San Diego Gaslamp district, Azuki Sushi is currently Nao’s second restaurant.

Azuki Sushi offers the finest fresh seafood served as sashimi, sushi, creative rolls and cooked entrees, as well as steak, chicken, a variety of salads, vegetarian selections and Japanese fushion dishes. Enjoy an extensive wine and sake list, and their own specialty shochu martinis and beer. Azuki Sushi host’s indoor dining at its sushi bar or a table and outdoor dining on its back patio.
The back patio seats up to 50 people and is available for private events. Azuki Sushi offers catering services for any event from birthdays and weddings to corporate lunches. The experienced chefs at Azuki Sushi will work with you to help and create the perfect menu for your guests at your event. The entire restaurant space, which seats up to 100 people, is also available for your private events on Sundays.
The sushi bar recently partnered with the The Old Globe Theatre. Azuki Sushi will be catering various upcoming events at the theater.
