San Diego Pride accepting applications for annual parade
Applications for floats, marching bands and other groups participating in San Diego Pride’s 36th annual parade are now available at www.SanDiegoPride.org. The mile-long parade will be held at down University Avenue through the heart of Hillcrest on July 17 at 11 a.m. This year’s theme is “One World, One Heart, One Pride.”
Although the deadline to apply is June 30, early applicants will secure a better chance of enjoying choice placement in the lineup. Fully decorated floats, musical contingents, costumed groups and equestrian units are strongly encouraged to take part in what is San Diego’s largest civic event. Awards will be given for best entries in a variety of categories.
Last year’s Pride parade attracted more than 60,000 spectators and thousands of marchers. The event will be followed by a two-day festival at Marston Point in Balboa Park.
