Tomás Guerrero is a hair and makeup artist who works at Pure Salon & Day Spa at Hazard Center in Mission Valley. Guerrero specializes in precision haircutting, color, highlights, updos and hair and makeup for those special occasions including weddings.

Guerrero moved to San Diego in 1974 and has been involved in the GLBT community ever since, volunteering and fundraising for such organizations as Queen Eddie’s Wreath Auction, San Diego Leather community, Wigs for Kids, AIDS Walk, Mama’s Kitchen, Auntie Helen’s and the San Diego LGBT Community Center to name a few. Guerrero is also a lifetime member of the Imperial Court de San Diego.

Guerrero got into the business of hair and makeup after working in sales. A friend, who was a hair and makeup artist, suggested going to cosmetology school and the “rest is history,” Guerrero said. Guerrero has been in the profession for more than 25 years and has taken classes at the Toni & Guy in New York and Santa Monica.
