BluSkye Group is a strategic marketing and design studio that creates websites, identities, ads and collateral. BluSkye Group was started by community member David Contois after he spent years working independently in graphic design. The studio has done social marketing campaigns since 1997, specifically in HIV prevention and crystal meth addiction and recovery. Contois is driven by his desire to design logos and company brands. “It’s the excitement of finding just the right font and image to reflect a business’s personality that helps fuel my passion for design,” he said.
Another passion dear to Contois is volunteerism. Contois has done pro bono design work for Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, Christie’s Place, A Reason To Survive and the San Diego LGBT Community Center among many others. From 1998 to 2004, Contois served on the board of directors of the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation. For the last eight years, he has served on the boards of both the Balboa Park Trust at The San Diego Foundation and the San Diego HIV Funding Collaborative. Contois spearheaded the Balboa Park Trails project, creating five gateway maps and twenty new trails. Currently, he is a member of the marketing committee for LEAD San Diego and serves on the board of Mama’s Kitchen. “Volunteering is a big part of who I am,” Contois said. “I encourage people to volunteer and share in their enthusiasm for giving back to the community.”
Contois is an avid user of social media. You can follow him on Twitter at http://twitter.com/dcontois or on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/BluSkyeGroup. You can also keep up to date on all things happening with BluSkyeGroup by reading its blog at www.BluSkyeGroup.com. ![]()
