2nd Annual Poker Invitational & Casino Night: The Metro Area Real Estate Professionals for Young Adult Housing (MARYAH) will host the MARYAH 2nd Annual Poker Invitational & Casino Night at The Abbey at 6 p.m. MARYAH is a private organization which assists The Center’s Youth Housing Project with 23 units of affordable housing to young people between the ages of 18 and 24, focusing on GLBT youth whom are homeless or are transitioning out of foster care. All proceeds and donations from this event will benefit The San Diego LGBT Community Center’s Youth Project. The Abbey is located at 2825 Fifth Avenue in San Diego. The Real L Word: The Human Rights Campaign San Diego and Showtime will be premiering a new reality series at the Brass Rail, opening at 7 p.m. and screening at 8 p.m. “The Real L Word” is a new reality show that follows the lives of real-life, high-profile lesbians as they go about their lives in life, love and play. San Diego County Fair: The City of San Diego will play host to its annual San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds beginning Friday June 11th to Monday July 5th. Since 1880 the San Diego County Fair has become a staple in the community, drawing in fair goers from southern to northern San Diego and beyond. The theme this year is “Taste the Fun” which perfectly accompanies the myriad of food and beverage offerings that will play center stage among other festivities including musical concerts, exhibits, shopping, rides and games.
Admission prices are: Adults, $13.00; Ages 62 and older, $7.00; Ages 6-12, $7.00 (free on Tuesdays); Ages 5 and younger, free.

‘Dog Sees God’: Bert V. Royal and the Diversionary Theatre presents Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead at 8 p.m. at the Diversionary Theatre located at 4545 Park Blvd in San Diego. The play follows the life of CB, the central character. After a tragic event in which CB’s dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. He receives no insight from his best friend who is too high to be coherent, his sister who has gone goth, his ex-girlfriend who has been institutionalized or his friends who are too intoxicated to help with anything. Finally he finds comfort and friendship from an unexpected quarters which leads to a surprising conclusion.
