“High-Art”: Sapphic Cinema and The San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center presents “High Art,” a film by Lisa Cholodenko, screening at 3900 Normal Street between University and Blaine, starting at 7 p.m. Starring Radha Mitchell who plays the editor of an art magazine who finds out her upstairs neighbor is a famous, reclusive photographer (Ally Sheedy). The two embark on a relationship in part fueled by drugs. Discussion of the film, or whatever topic strikes your fancy, follows. For more information, call Robin Rigby at 619-692-2077.

Sunday, June 27th
Hillcrest Farmer’s Market:The Hillcrest Farmers Market will take place on Sunday, June 27th at the DMV parking lot in Hillcrest starting at 9 a.m. Currently, the market consists of 110 vendors offering a wide variety of locally grown in-season fruit, produce and flowers. Many of the local California Farmers participating in the market grow their produce organically or with no pesticides. The market also hosts a large variety of prepared food and hot food items with an emphasis on international cuisine. Additionally, each week there are a large number of arts and crafts vendors participating as well as weekly entertainment performed by the 7th Day Buskers, a local band.
